About University College Dublin
University College Dublin is the largest university in Ireland and was founded in 1854 as the Catholic University of Ireland. It was renamed University College Dublin in 1882 and is mostly located at a campus at Belfield to the south of the city centre. There are currently more than 33,000 students including 9,500 international students, making it the most international Irish university.It has been ranked in the top 200 global universities in the QS World University Rankings and top 250 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In the QS and Times Higher Education national rankings in Ireland, University College Dublin ranks second and third respectively. It has also been named the number one university in Ireland by US News & World for the last two years.
